Since the global market arrived in Nigeria, several things took a new turn.
New ways of solving problems, new technology, globally influenced products and even the presence of the new age services. It is a battle of technologically driven services. Uber vs taxify.
Uber and taxify aren’t left out when I’m talking about “new age services”. Usually, it was uber started with. Cos they were the first cab service that broke into the market space. Later, I was inducted into taxify because of newbie bonuses, referral bonus, and promotion discounts.

Well, I’ve had my share of both services. As you know, I need to efficiently move around comfortably. Travel lover.
Most used last year. During a relatively long stay in Lagos.
This is from my point of view. Your experience may be different. But having used uber services over time, this is what I’ve concluded.
THE UBER APP:
- Simple UI design.
- Easy to navigate through.
- Linked to Google services for easier location.
- Works with google maps for easier Navigation. So you don’t get lost. And so a driver can navigate through the shortest possible route or find his way around.
- Easy payment gateway. Cash or credit card.
- Technology inclined design
- Relatively fast support system.
The uber drivers:
The drivers are humans and as humans, we are filled with emotions. Different ones at different times. My experience with Uber drivers. In stars,
- Nice. 🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷
- Polite. 🔷🔷🔷🔷
- Facial appearance. 🔷🔷🔷🔷
- Dressing. 🔷🔷🔷🔷
- Sense of humour🔹
- Sense of minding their business🔷🔷🔷🔷🔷

Uber services to me is always good. I’ve never had any bad or terrible uber experience. Although, sometimes, some drivers tend to be in a bad mood or have a bad day. Humans, remember?
There’s always an option to rate the service after every ride. A comment option is available just in case your have extra opinions
Uber payment is easy. Simple. Either cash or card option available. They let you use their service with insufficient funds in your account. Not a totally blank balance. However, if at the conclusion of your trip, the money in your account can’t foot the bill, your payment would be held pending when you have sufficient money. They usually take the money owed when you are ordering for your next ride. This is only possible for the card option.
If you choose the cash option, always check for the price estimate of your destination. Do not hold the exact amount. Carry a little more than that.
I never opt-in for the cash option. Paying with my card is safer for me.
Most used this year.

THE TAXIFY APP:
- Easy to navigate
- A bit technology inclined design.
- Linked with google maps and navigation services
- Linked to Google location service.

- Sense humor
- Sense of minding their business

Taxify payment is easy too. All you have to do is choose either the card or cash option.
Sometimes, you might have discounts and promotions especially as a new user or a user that has referred other people. Referral bonus. The bonuses don’t work if you choose the cash option. You have to opt for the card option for the bonuses to apply.
Just like uber, taxify also gives the liberty of estimating your price. So, if you’re opting for the cash option, you know how much to take along with you.
UBER VS TAXIFY:
Both services are similar. however, I haven’t noticed any dissimilarity except in pricing.
Taxify prices seem to be a little cheaper than uber prices. Most people think so. However, most times, it is not always about the pricing.
Recently, I tried putting up a poll on Instagram. Uber vs Taxify. The highest vote was for uber. Looks like most people are willing to pay for value and service instead.
Uber or Taxify, which would you opt-in for?
Had any terrible experiences with them?
Which would you continue to use?
